Pannonhalma is a small town about 20 km from Győr. The town is famous for its thousand-year-old Abbey which is situated above the village, on St. Marton hill.

There are a number of farms in the area where people still grow grapes, often to make their own wine.

In the Pannonhalma wine region the main white grape varieties are grown (e.g.: Chardonnay, Italian Riesling). There are fewer red wines in the area, the most common is Kékfrankos.

Sopron is situated on the Austrian border, not far from Lake Fertő. Visitors from all over the world admire the old buildings and sections of the town which reflect medieval architecture. There is an old synagogue which is worth to have a look. On the hill, there is a 165 metres tall TV-broadcasting tower, which looks like a rocket and has the nickname „Rocket”
